Nominated for Producer of the year at UKMVA in 2020.

Kareem Adeshina is a London based producer with 8+ years in the industry and a passion for storytelling. With most of his experience in commercial and music, his sole focus is now on producing film.

Over the course of 2020 Kareem started developing his own slate of work. Play It Safe (Mitch Kalisa, 2020) was the first short film Kareem co-produced. It had a successful festival campaign with several selections internationally. It won The Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short at the 2021 SXSW Festival. The film then went on to be nominated for a BIFA award and longlisted for a BAFTA award in 2022.

He has since produced three more short films, COLBY (Dir. Rashida Seriki, released early 2022), Giraffe (Dir. Caleb Femi, releases late 2022) and A Very Short Film About Longing (Dir. Eimear McBride, releases early 2023).

In 2021, Kareem started his transition into long-form narratives, marked with associate producer credits on feature films Scrapper (Dir. Charlotte Regan, 2023) and the highly anticipated Netflix project, The Kitchen, Directed by Kibwe Tavares, produced by Daniel Kaluuya and Daniel Emmerson which is scheduled for release in late 2023.

His own journey began as a child actor - a time he still draws upon to bring a unique perspective to his work behind the camera. Previously Kareem has also worked as a Head of Music Video at Greatcoat Films after a successful run at freelance producing for many major UK and US labels and well-known musicians like Wizkid, Mabel, Royal Blood, Aitch and many more. In his first year at the company Kareem was nominated for the UKMVA Producer of the year award.

Kareem aims to tap into his strong cultural background and Nigerian/Indian heritage whilst evolving as a producer for film.

With a firm belief that film can positively shape culture, he hopes to add to the diversely rich storytelling and discourse in which we have seen an uplift over the last decade.
